Leeds midfielder Jordan Stevens suspended for betting breaches

After being found guilty of breaching FA regulations leeds midfielder Jordan Stevens was suspended.
The charges alleged that Stevens placed 59 bets on football matches involving August 6, 2018, and May 27, 2019.
The 19-year-old, that left one Sky Bet Championship appearance for Leeds last season, announced that a misconduct charge to the Betting Rules of the FA and was fined #1,200.
Stevens contains and signed for Leeds under a year remaining in his current deal at Elland Road.
He included throughout but is still to take a look for the Whites that season.
An announcement from the club :”We acknowledge the sanctions passed down by the FA to Jordan Stevens following a breach of gambling regulations.
“We will encourage Jordan during this procedure, he’s a young footballer who needs teaching on the risks of external influences and the way to conduct himself as a professional footballer.
“As a team we feel that attacking a 19-year-old footballer from participating in training or interacting with the club’s team is an excessive punishment.”
Leeds’ chief executive Angus Kinnear said:”Whilst we fully recognise the significance of their FA’s job in safeguarding the integrity of this game, we’re hugely disappointed at the FA’s selection of sanction.
“To prevent young footballer from participate in any soccer activities at this critical period of the career is a disproportionate punishment following a ridiculous error by a young player.
“We are particularly disappointed that the sanction was determined by 2 former professional footballers that we expected could have had a better comprehension of the effects of their choice.”
